The production process

Traditional methods and 100% natural ingredients

Ron Barceló is made from 100% natural sugar cane juice, grown on the company’s own plantations in the fertile soils of the Dominican Republic without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilisers. As the only Dominican rum brand to use exclusively sugar cane juice from its own plantations, Barceló guarantees exceptional quality and authenticity.

Barceló rum is produced using traditional distillation methods and modern techniques such as the vacuum process in column stills to preserve the aromas of the sugar cane as effectively as possible. This special distillation method ensures the rum’s unique complexity and purity. After distillation, the rum is aged in various wooden casks, which contributes to the additional depth and characteristic flavour of the final product.

Sustainable production

Barceló Rum places great emphasis on sustainability and is actively committed to environmental protection. The distillery operates in an energy-efficient manner and uses renewable energy to reduce its environmental footprint. Furthermore, Ron Barceló deliberately avoids additives such as sugar and colourings to preserve the rum’s purity and quality.

A further sign of its commitment to sustainability is the CO2 neutrality certification that Barceló Rum has received. This underlines the company’s endeavour to protect the environment whilst delivering high-quality products.

Strict quality controls

Barceló Rum is subject to strict quality controls to ensure that every bottle meets the highest standards. From the selection of the sugar cane to the final bottling, every step is carefully monitored to guarantee consistently high quality.
