Founded in the 1840s by pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise, whilst the island was still a Danish colony, every bottle combines traditional distilling craftsmanship with its founder’s passion for exploration. A.H. Riise Royal Danish Navy West Indian Bitter is based on the renowned A.H. Riise X.O. Reserve Rum and is refined by the addition of over 30 different spices and herbs, the majority of which are sourced directly from the Caribbean. The selected ingredients include gentian root, quinine, bitter oranges, cloves, sandalwood, cocoa beans, coffee beans and a hint of vanilla, which together create a unique flavour profile.
