Description
Beneva Mezcal with Agave Worm 100% Agave DOP 38% vol. 0.7 l online kaufen
Beneva Mezcal with Agave Worm 100% Agave DOP 38% vol. 0.7 l comes from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, the traditional and protected designation of origin (D.O.P.) for high-quality mezcal. The climatic conditions there and the mineral-rich soil are ideal for the growth of the Agave Espadín, the heart of which – known as the piña – is harvested after a maturation period of around nine years. The sugary juices are extracted from this piña and fermented and distilled using a traditional method dating back over 200 years. This labour-intensive production process guarantees a 100% natural product that preserves the authentic character of traditional mezcal and makes Beneva one of Mexico’s leading export mezcals.
The name Benevá originates from the Zapotec language and means ‘the eldest, the wise, the experienced’. It symbolises respect, knowledge and responsibility, passed down through generations – values that are also reflected in the production of this mezcal. The label features the goddess Thirteen Snakes, inspired by Tomb 19 at the Monte Albán archaeological site, a symbol of wisdom and spiritual power. Beneva Mezcal is aged in white oak casks, which lend it additional depth and subtle woody notes. What makes it special: each bottle contains a real maguey worm, a traditional symbol of strength, purity and the authenticity of Mexican spirits culture.
Tasting Note
Colour: Pale gold with slight amber highlights.
Nose: Earthy agave notes, smoke, oak and a hint of vanilla.
Palate: Smooth and well-balanced, with smoky notes, agave, wood and subtle hints of spice.
Finish: Long-lasting, rounded and slightly sweet with nuances of herbs, wood and smoke.
Beneva Mezcal with Agave Worm is ideal for enjoying neat, slightly chilled or at room temperature, to allow its complex bouquet to unfold fully. It is traditionally served with orange slices and a pinch of Sal de Gusano (worm salt). It also reveals its depth and elegance when used in classic cocktails such as the Mezcal Margarita or the Oaxacan Old Fashioned. Culinary pairings include grilled meat, tacos al pastor, spicy vegetables or smoked fish. An authentic mezcal for connoisseurs who appreciate the blend of Mexican tradition, craftsmanship and nature.
